FAQ

What is Headliner?

caret icon

Headliner is building a new way for artists to connect with fans during these trying times. While touring and in person shows have been postponed, fans and artists don’t have to stop connecting, they just need to find a new medium to do so. Headliner is that new medium. We have created a way for artists to put on virtual events, with ultra-low latency streaming, allowing artists and fans to interact throughout the show in real-time.

What makes it different from normal live streams?

caret icon

While many of the “live streams” you may have encountered on other platforms are prerecorded or delayed, Headliner is built for intimate, live performances. Our broadcasts are real-time, so the moment an artist speaks or plays something, you can hear them and provide responses that they can see and react to. We also allow the option to gate the event and set a capacity, creating a more intimate setting.

If I am an artist, how do I sign up to start performing?

caret icon

All you have to do is request access to the site. We will review your submission and be in touch in 1-2 days.

What is a private, ticketed virtual event?

caret icon

Headliner gives artists a variety of options regarding event types. Our most notable event type is private, ticketed events. These are events where artists sell tickets to fans who want to go to the virtual event. The artist can set a capacity for the event and the price per ticket, and fans can purchase tickets to the event on Headliner. We are able to make events private so only ticket purchasers can enter the show.

Can Headliner support tips/donations for artists during their events?

caret icon

Yes, we have donations built into the platform for artists to turn on. 100% of donations go to the artist.

What is the cost to the artist?

caret icon

There is no cost. 100% of ticket sales and tips go directly to the artist.

Does the fan pay a service fee on tickets sold?

caret icon

Fans are charged the price that the artist set for tickets plus a credit card processing fee (typically ~3%) that is given to our payment processing company. Headliner doesn’t make any profit on ticketed transactions.

Do fans get to keep a copy of the performance to rewatch after the event?

caret icon

Events on Headliner are meant to be as live as the in-person events that you are used to. The artists we work with are building highly interactive performances with real artist-fan interaction that need to be consumed live to achieve the preferred fan experience. As such, all events are not pausable, rewindable, or rewatchable.

Do the events start on time?

caret icon

Most events will start at the start time or a few minutes after. We ask that you make sure to be in the event by the start time because there is no way to pause or rewatch the event the buyer purchases a ticket to.

When can I access the event?

caret icon

From the minute you purchase the ticket to an event, you will be able to enter the event room where the show will be broadcasted. While the show will not start until the event’s showtime, you can hang out in there and participate in the live chat with other fans who purchased tickets to the same event.

Is my credit card safe on Headliner?

caret icon

Headliner does not store any credit card information. Instead, we use Stripe, one of the largest payment processors in the world. They store your personal data, keeping it safe and secure.
